Levels

Pre-requisites

Basic Skills Taught

Tadpole**

Child must be at least 6 months of age.

  • Getting in & out of the water
  • Floating
  • Jumping in and returning to the wall
  • Swimming to the side.

Frog**

Child must have passed Tadpole.

  • Pop-up breathing
  • Rollover breathing
  • Changing direction in the water
  • Other advanced techniques.

Beginning Minnow

Child must be at least 3 years of age.

  • Swim 10 feet unassisted
  • Jump in and return to the wall
  • Floating
  • Swimming under water.

Advanced Minnow

Child must be able to swim 10 feet.

  • Swim 30 feet unassisted
  • Rollover breathing
  • Pop-up breathing.

Fish

Child must be able to swim 30 feet.

  • Backstroke
  • Front crawl with rhythmic breathing.

Sting Ray

Child must be able to perform the backstroke.

  • Front crawl with side breathing
  • Elementary backstroke
  • Treading water.

Barracuda

Child must be able to perform side breathing and the elementary backstroke.

  • Whip kick
  • Scissors kick
  • Introduction to the breaststroke
  • Introduction to the sidestroke.

Dolphin

Child must be able to perform whip kick and scissors kick.

  • Breaststroke
  • Sidestroke
  • Dolphin kick.

Shark

Child must be able to perform breaststroke and sidestroke.

  • Perform all strokes perfectly
  • Butterfly
  • Flip turns
  • Swim a distance of 500 yards.

Adult Classes

No pre-requisites
  • Beginner to Advanced Techniques
  • Custom to the Needs of the Student

 

Triathlete

 

TI Swimmers

No pre-requisites
**These classes are specifically for children between the ages of 6 and 36 months. Please note that a parent must be in the water with each child.

 

Instruction Types

 

Group Classes

  • 8 Classes per session
  • 30 minutes per class
  • 3 to 5 students per class
  • Classes take place 2 to 3 times a week depending on locations

Private Classes

  • 8 Classes per session
  • 30 minutes per class (20 minutes if child is under 3 years old)
  • One-on-one lessons take place 2 to 3 times a week depending on location

Semi-Private Classes

  • 8 Classes per session
  • 30 minutes per class
  • Maximum of 2 students in a class
  • Classes take place to 2 to 3 times a week depending on the location
